Aurora Aksnes first musical memory was discovering a piano within her loft and being amazed by the music. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes, encouraged their daughter to pursue music more as a hobby than a profession. She began to write with her own music. Alongside Bjork as well, she mentions Leonard Cohen as an influence. She decided to start performing her songs publicly when her mom suggested they might help others not to gain fame with her work but to make people see around them realize their own importance and how they could impact the world. She started playing piano when she was six years old and began writing music at the age of nine. The family did not know about this until she reached the age of 14. Aurora has never imagined being famous. She claims that she loves writing music. According to her, she believes music can make anyone feel better.
